Gigabit Ethernet switch
May 16, 2005 5:55 PM
Performance Technologies (Booth #79080) introduces the ATC6610 Base-Fabric AdvancedTCA GB Ethernet switch. The ATC6610 is the ideal interconnect for network-centric packet and protocol processing typically seen in modern telephony systems. It offers increased bandwidth, performance and reliability in high availability applications such as media and signaling gateways, IP media equipment and telecom switching/routing infrastructure. To ensure system reliability, the ATC6610 can be configured to monitor network status, and it continuously checks its own health through real-time integrity tests. In the event of failure, data is automatically re-routed to an alternate path.
The potent scripting language of the ATC6610 simplifies and automates installation and maintenance functions. With dual switches, the alternate unit can obtain all operational and configuration information from the other switch or an external manager, making change-out of failed modules as simple as replacing the failed board. The new unit "clones" its setup from the configuration stored on the surviving switch.
The ATC6610 can be equipped with an IPMC slave interface or Performance Technologies' IPMC Shelf Management Module. Combining the switch and shelf manager on a single blade saves critical space. The ATC6610 has dual PTMC sites (Configuration 5), each of which can be populated with several options, including NAT/LSNAT, IP Tunneling, adjunct processing modules or a four-port Gb TX uplink module. System software is available through downloads from www.pt.com, greatly simplifying or eliminating the need for dedicated on-site network administration.
