Distributed antenna system
May 26, 2005 1:29 PM
ADC (Booth #20018, #21066, #23018) announces the Digivance Street-Coverage System (SCS), the latest offering in ADC's digital Distributed Antenna System (DAS). Featuring ADC's digital RF transport-over-fiber technology, the SCS offers superior digital performance and the industry's highest available optical loss budget. Centralization of the base radio capacity affords the most cost-effective, environmentally friendly coverage approach.
The SCS is designed for deployment in dense urban areas where wireless service operators need to provide coverage but are greatly restricted by local municipality zoning ordinances. The Digivance solution offers multiple mounting options including strand mount, utility pole and lamp post applications. The SCS, which is available in single- or dual-band models (800/1900), is passively cooled in a completely sealed housing with no fans or vents. Its low profile, small volume and light weight make it ideal for quick, discreet installations.
Additional benefits include:
- A unique distributed antenna approach that enables the centralization of
base station radio capacity for efficient backhaul and lowest environmental
impact.
- A special design that blends well into the environment. The SCS remote
unit features a low-profile form factor that can be mounted inside a standard
utility pole. Its narrow profile and low cubic volume are ideal for urban
areas where aesthetics are paramount, yet wireless coverage is mandatory.
- A fully sealed remote unit, which increases system reliability, eliminates
fan noise and makes the unit more aesthetically attractive.
- A solution designed to overcome municipality placement restrictions.
