The ATC6610 is the ideal interconnect for network-centric packet and protocol processing typically seen in modern telephony systems. It offers increased bandwidth, performance and reliability in high availability applications such as media and signaling gateways, IP media equipment and telecom switching/routing infrastructure. To ensure system reliability, the ATC6610 can be configured to monitor network status, and it continuously checks its own health through real-time integrity tests. Carrier Grade Data Management Platform
Solid Information Technology (booth #53015) announces the release of version 4.5K of its carrier-grade data management platform. Solid version 4.5K is a failover-transparent link that optimizes version 4.5K for carrier-grade production environments. A new feature called CarrierGrade Connection uses Solid's own drivers to retain the connection handle between applications and databases after failover/switchover — thus avoiding time-consuming application tasks such as error-processing and determining the IP address of the new primary DB. The addition of CarrierGrade Connection to Solid's version 4.5K platform results in the shortest failover/switchover times in the industry. Media Converter
Transition Networks (booth #64001) announces the new release within its Just Convert-It line of standalone media converters. The new Gigabit Ethernet copper-to-fiber converter increases the top speed in the Just Convert-It product line to 1,000 Mb/s, offering customers a lower-cost, no frills alternative to full-featured converters. Transitions' newest offering, J/GE-CF-01(xx), is a 1000Base-T to 1000Base-SX or 1000Base-LX media converter that addresses the increasing need for speed in networks. It allows users to extend their Gigabit networks up to 65 km (41 miles) on singlemode fiber. FTTX
Connectorized Terminal Blocks
Telect (booth #29030) launches new high-speed connectorized terminal blocks supporting advanced DSL (ADSL2+) build-out by reducing insertion loss, crosstalk and return loss, all in an industry-standard main distribution frame front-facing design that's cost-effective and simple to deploy. By removing the limitations inherent to standard voice frequency terminal blocks, high-speed blocks can help service providers offer customers the high data speeds they demand without a major capital investment. IPTV
IPTV Service Customization Tool
Myrio (booth #73022) announces the Myrio Interactive Creator, a new tool that allows broadband service providers to fully customize their IPTV offerings. Myrio Interactive Creator is a Java-based application that allows for real-time editing and customization of the Myrio Interactive Client. The creation tool can be used to create, test and then package a user-defined IPTV viewing experience, and can run on any platform that has a supported Java virtual machine. This will enable broadband service providers to create branded product offerings designed specifically for their customers and to add elements such as company logos and tailored menus. Video Gateway
Entone Technologies' (booth #82276) Hydra IP video gateway is a single device that supports up to three simultaneous video streams and broadband access for in-home video distribution over existing coaxial cabling. By sharing the electronics across multiple TVs and using the existing home wiring, video service operators can significantly reduce the cost of delivering IPTV to the home. HDTV Encoders for MPEG-4 and Windows Media 9
TANDBERG Television (booth #24053) will display its high-definition products for MPEG-4 AVC and Windows Media Video 9. The company's EN5990 MPEG-4 AVC and EN5980 Windows Media Video 9 (VC-1) HD encoders, both based on its groundbreaking HD Intelligent Compression Engine (ICE), achieve real-time delivery of outstanding high-definition images at substantially lower bit-rates than MPEG-2 compression — potentially doubling capacity compared to the previous MPEG-2 telco video model of sending two channels into the home. TANDBERG Television will show separate MPEG-4 AVC and Windows Media Video 9 (VC-1) multi-channel IPTV encoding solutions for TV over DSL. The live demonstrations will show how telcos can truly compete with cable operators today by using advanced compression to send multiple channels into the home and feed multiple TV sets. OSS
Central Office Test Platform
Tollgrade (booth #57000) introduces the DigiTest HUB next generation central office test platform for both emerging broadband and legacy network testing. The DigiTest HUB is designed to support multiple testing and network assurance scenarios by retaining the interfaces to legacy equipment while providing testability to subscribers served on next generation network elements. The DigiTest HUB is a modular, 12-slot chassis for medium-to-large CO applications where a variety of services emanate. Plug-in modules can be added, as required, to support POTS, DSL Layer 1-7 and specials testing. Test plug-in resources can be shared to multiple network elements by the use of a module that multiplexes the test access path. This includes sharing a test resource to remote access elements as fiber is driven further out into the network in topologies such as FTTx. VoIP
VoIP Gateway
Alvarion (booth #68049) introduces Voice Gateway capabilities to its Breeze-MAX 3500 to enable highly efficient toll-quality voice and broadband data services to the wireless subscriber. Using an advanced resource allocation and reservation proprietary protocol called DRAP (Dynamic Resource Allocation Protocol), Alvarion's Voice Gateway guarantees highly efficient use of air interface resources between the voice gateway and the base station. DRAP enables the voice gateway to register itself in the base station. It then allocates the exact amount of capacity needed for each voice or fax session Programmable Subscriber Services Management
